Knowing His Voice

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).

Yesterday was the last day to have our all our kids home for the holidays.  As a mom, I have cherished the last ten days we have been all together, something that is quite rare as we live thousands of miles apart.  Even with our availability to stay connected through phones and Instagram and all the other crazy-technology that is out there, there’s nothing like face-to-face time.  There’s nothing like waking up in the morning and kissing my kids and rubbing their backs.  I don’t care if they’re all grown up, I love them to pieces and I’d give my very life for them.

To think that my love for them is just a fraction of how Jesus feels about me.  And it’s the same for you.   Jesus loves to have intimate friendship and moments with you every day.  Like a sheep knows the very distinct voice of the shepherd, we know the voice of our Lord.  Bob and I are really praying for you this year, that you will hear him easily, clearly and daily.  We pray that you will have clarity of thought and heart as you follow Him.  He’s your very loving shepherd.  It’s a simple concept, yet one that’s worth contemplating. Expand your anticipation to hear Him more – starting today.

Today is my day to believe God for a heart of faith to cling to His promises.  I love the voice of my shepherd, and I incline my ear to hear His love, His direction and His moment-by-moment friendship.

Looking forward with you to the best year yet!

Love Audrey
